The primary task of the Symposium is to provide an overview and estimation of research methods in the area of modeling and designing drying processes, as well as new technological solutions and constructions of dryers, and also to present and exchange ideas between researchers and representatives of industry.

The objective of the Symposium is to create a co-operation platform for the wide application of research work in developing new technological solutions for drying processes and advanced design for dryers.

The topics of the Symposium comprise a range of theoretical and practical issues related to drying with the special emphasis of the following problems:
- fundamentals of drying
- modeling of drying processes
- physical properties of dried materials
- energy consumption in drying
- ecological aspects of drying
- quality of dried products
- safety of drying
- design of dryers
- new constructions of dryers
